The inn is a historical property on the National Registry, which prompted us to book it--however, old doesn't mean the room has to be dusty and shabby. In addition, there was no housekeeping during our 5 night stay. If you wanted fresh towels, you had to go downstairs and pick them up yourselves. Very disappointed and underwhelmed with this inn!

Stayed here in April 2024 for 4 nights. Pros: Friendly staff. Morning coffee and tea, evening wine and cheese served on the shady courtyard patio. Walking distance to King Street shopping, waterfront park, lots of nearby restaurants, free CARTA shuttles. Cons: Noisy street. My room (#10) was at the front of the hotel, facing Queen Street. There are 4 restaurants on that block, so between outdoor dining, music, and bins being rolled out for trash pick-up at 11:30 p.m., it could be pretty noisy. The hotel has done a good job of trying to soundproof the rooms, but if you're a light sleeper and/or like to go to sleep early, maybe ask for a room toward the back of the hotel, away from the street.

Great location easy to walk anywhere in the French Quarter. Two great restaurants on either side of the bed-and-breakfast. Friendly people. Two garages. One across the street one down the street. Reasonable price $20 a day.

Stain on sheets, wide opening under door to outdoor courtyard, (had to shove a towel under it), not good lighting, dirty chairs, very loud kitchen area next door kept us awake very late.

VERY overpriced, not clean, no daily cleaning of the rooms, very old and dilapidated. Definitely not worth $400 per night!

Location is perfect. Public parking across the street - very convenient. Receptionists were very nice and pleasant and helpful. Generally, hotel needs some major renovations. Very old and not very clean. Also, some plumbing issues, sink and shower worked poorly.

Our room was next to a restaurant and they kept us up till 4 am throwing bottles in trash, could hear people above and next to us using their bathroom. They advertised free breakfast and that there was a bar and there was neither, just wine and coffee in courtyard. Sorry, not worth the money for this small room under set of steps also. We did not sleep at all and had just drove 5 hrs then had to drive 8 hrs next day

Loved the friendly staff and Jessica was very helpful moving us from a top floor noisy room facing the street to a quieter room further inside the complex. Really enjoyed happy hour each evening too

The room was fine, bed comfy, plenty of towels, and closet space. The only issue was the shower water was cold. It would start off warm and eventually turn cold. Other than that the stay was excellent!

Yes older area but a few improvements needed. Consider the location and the ease of getting around the area on foot was great....Just trying to get to location was a nightmare..a lot of one way streets and parade traffic...would have been here sooner if known about the parade... all and all might come back if price was a little cheaper..

Convenient location on Queen Street close to parking and great restaurants. The courtyard at the inn was nice and the nightly wine and cheese next to the gas fireplace was great. The room was clean and comfortable but the musty, moldy smell was overpowering when you entered the room. I dropped something and it rolled under the bed. When I went to retrieve it, I could tell the floor hadn't been cleaned under the bed in quite a while. The noise from the surrounding restaurants and other establishments was fairly loud. Also, trucks idling, unloading, and picking up garbage in the early morning hours happened every day during our stay. Overall, the hotel was not bad but not worth the money. You're paying for location. Something needs a something to remediate the musty odor in the room.

We appreciate you choosing Elliott House Inn. We have platform beds, so it's not possible for items to roll under the bed. Perhaps it's another hotel that it may have happened to. Keep in mind that our hotel is over 100 years old. It has a lot of history and we use bleach in all our cleaning products. Thanks for the feedback!

It was very well located for walking, shopping, museums, dining. The check in was easy. The rooms are owned like condos and run like a hotel. My room was pretty nice. The mattress was amazing however, it wa right on Queen Street with a parking garage right across the street and a street light right outside one window. The room had plantation shutters. Nice touch but the need black out drapes or shades as well. Hard to sleep!!!!!

I could hear everything in the room above me as they checked out at 4:30am. I could hear a guest snoring in the room next to me. There was a leak in my bathroom coming from the ceiling. No service what so ever. The hotel attendant had no people skills at all. This could be a good place if they had decent caring staff and some attention to details … never again for me.

This lovely hotel has a wonderful location in the historic district of Charleston with great restaurants and shops close by. There is a quaint courtyard in the center that has coffee available in the morning. The shower door in our room didn’t close properly but the staff were attentive to the information and said they’d take care of it right away. There is parking across the street which is convenient but costs $20/night.

Very quiet area. Walkable to a lot of the attractions in Charleston with restaurants close by. Pedicabs were a great option when you didn't want to walk.

We loved our stay there. Friendly front desk lady. Lovely wine, cheese, crackers, grapes, iced tea every evening 5-6 pm. Coffee in the mornings and iced water throughout the day. The room and grounds were very clean. We had a beautiful room with a serene view of the courtyard. It was quiet and private, yet we were in the middle of beautiful Charleston. Walking distance to the best restaurants and sights. No complaints at all!
