We were not impressed with the facilities in relation to the premium price tag. For a little more we could have stayed at the Ritz Carlton. For the price we anticipated this hotel to be top-notch.
There was a used/dirty washcloth hanging in the shower when we arrived to our room. The room smelled strongly of marijuana. Sadly that is not uncommon with any caliber of hotel in the Charlotte area as of lately though. The outside grounds needed to be landscaped & cleaned up a bit.
The escalator was broken during our stay, which also happened to be during a very large wedding ceremony. We had to use the stairs several times because the elevators were overcrowded due to the wedding guests. There was construction supplies & trash left in the stairwells from what we assume was remodeling.
In my opinion, this was a 4-5 star priced hotel with 2-3 star qualities. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't exceptional. I would have expected to pay $130/night at a hotel like this, not close to $300.
On the other hand, the staff was wonderful. Every staff member we encountered was super helpful, friendly & accommodating.
