Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Augusta could be completely stress-free or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some handy travel tips that will help you start your next great escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, important documents, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favorite movies are good options. If you hope to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll step off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be the goal when choosing what to wear on your flight. Consider your footwear choice with care too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are quite common. Flat shoes which are slightly roomy are always a good idea.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's lots you can do to lower your risk. Don a pair of compression socks, drink lots of water and get your legs and feet moving. Walk the aisles of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
