Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Avery escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your number one priority when picking what to wear during your flight. Consider your choice of footwear with care too, as swollen feet are a common side effect of flying. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy are always a sensible way to go.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are another simple way to help reduce this risk.
