We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and discovering Bole in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, put in your passport, travel docs, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favorite shows are some fantastic options. If you hope to catch more than just forty winks, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll touchdown feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and take a sweater as the temperature can drop in the cabin during long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also recommended.
- A condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this happening. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks can also help.
