Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. Take a peek at these handy hints that will get your Brewer vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a pleasure if you pack the right things. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight is as simple as your choice of clothing. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin gets too cold. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left for other occasions. Instead, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will appreciate it.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. There are plenty of ways to minimize your risk. Wear a good-quality pair of compression socks, stay hydrated and move your legs and feet. Do a lap or two of the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
