If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be tough. But there's no need to panic. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a hassle-free start to your time in Canaan. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack your passport, official ID, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some fantastic options. If you plan to take a quick snooze, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and bring a cardigan as it can get quite cool in the cabin on long-haul flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also recommended.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce your risk.
