We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and seeing the best of Dat Do in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack your passport, travel documents, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are some wonderful options. If you intend to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
