Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Desi could be a piece of cake or it could drag on forever. We've pulled together some useful tips that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a great experience if you carry the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your phone and charger, any vital medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Pick easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
