Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your Dombuehl escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and pack a cardigan as the temperature can drop inside the cabin during longer flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-distance travel is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
