We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and enjoying Don Yai in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a stress-free travel experience is to be prepared. First up, the essentials: passport, boarding pass, credit cards and medications. Next, take on board items that'll help keep you entertained, like your laptop or a thrilling book. It's also a wise idea to bring your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Last but not least, don't forget to chuck in toiletry items like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an aircraft are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and bring a sweater as it can get quite cool in the cabin. Closed-toed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. There's plenty you can do to lower your risk. Don a pair of compression tights or socks, stay well hydrated and get your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or perform some simple exercises in your seat.
