We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Druzhnoye in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good read. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like tools, metal cutlery, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could harm passengers, such as guns and swords, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and remember to bring a sweater as it can get quite cool in the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a good idea.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help reduce this risk.
