Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Duran escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, put in your passport, official ID, cash and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are some great options. If you intend to catch more than just forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to take a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lessen your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
