If you're not prepared, air travel can be testing. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a trouble-free start to your time in Efthalou. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to pack a pullover just in case you get cold. Opt for a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks may also help.
