We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and enjoying Gower before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your airplane are no fashion runway. Layer up with comfy clothing and remember to bring a sweater as it can get quite cool inside the cabin during longer flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also a sensible choice.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's lots you can do to mitigate your risk. Wear a good-quality pair of compression tights or socks, stay hydrated and move your legs and feet. Walk the aisles of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
