Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will get your Il'ich vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a hassle-free travel experience is to pack in advance. First up, the essentials: passport, official ID, cash and daily medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help keep you occupied, like some electronic gadgets or a thrilling book. It's also wise to bring your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Finally, don't forget to chuck in toiletry items like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a pullover in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
