Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Isla Plana could be a piece of cake or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some handy travel tips that will help you start your next unforgettable escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by wearing layers, and opt for flat, closed-toe footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
