Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Junas escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, put in your passport, official ID, cash and medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favorite shows are always good options. If you hope to catch forty winks, a neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll step off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to bring a pullover in case you get cold. Always opt for well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- The condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce the risk.
