We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be zooming through the airport and seeing the best of Koekelare in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and a good read. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your important medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your aircraft are not the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and remember to bring a sweater as it tends to get cool in the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are always a good choice too.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression tights or socks may also help.
