Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your La Corte vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, important documents, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a few toiletry items so you'll hop off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, blades, fuel and fireworks. Sports equipment like ice skates, and objects that could injure passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as you can. Layer up in natural fibers and pack a cardigan just in case you get chilly. Go for a pair of roomy, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy boots in your luggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help minimize this risk.
