Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Lioni could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. We've put together some tips that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, your medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, knives, fireworks and fuel. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could harm other people, such as guns and swords, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and take a jacket in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Always go with flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-distance travel is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression tights and socks are another great idea to help lower your risk.
