No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of handy tips that will help get your Madera vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, your medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and go for shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
