Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Marawaka escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a pleasure if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
