We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and enjoying Mitzic before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight often lies in your choice of clothing. Prepare yourself for varying temperatures by bringing layers. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin begins to cool down. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left for other occasions. Even though they may be your favorites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will appreciate it.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. There's plenty you can do to reduce your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression socks or tights, drink lots of water often and keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
