If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be testing. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips for a pain-free start to your time in Nett Lake. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you take the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Don layers of natural-fiber clothing and pack a cardigan in case you get cold. Go for a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and chunky boots in your checked baggage.
- Most travelers have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There are many ways to lower your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression socks or tights, drink lots of water often and get your legs and feet moving. Walk around the cabin when possible or perform some simple exercises in your seat.
