Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Pierce could be as easy as pie or it could go on forever. We've rounded up some useful travel tips that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, drills, fireworks and fuel. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could injure passengers, such as firearms and swords, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear choice with care too, as swollen ankles and feet are a common side effect of flying. Flat shoes which are slightly roomy are always a good idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-haul flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help lower your risk.
