No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organized. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Pritzen escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and bring a cardigan in case it gets cold in the cabin. Always go with well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights can also help.
