Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Scordia vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you bring the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Layer up with loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to pack a cardigan just in case you get chilly. Pick flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and hiking boots in your main luggage.
- The serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks may also help.
