Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Seven Mile Ford vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your number one priority when selecting what to wear on board. Consider your footwear choice with care too, as swollen ankles and feet are a common occurrence. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a sensible way to go.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks also helps reduce your risk.
