We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and seeing the best of Takakushi before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a pocket knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your plane are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and take a sweater as it tends to get cool inside the cabin during longer flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers on long-distance flights. The good news is there are proven ways to lower your risk of developing it. Drink plenty of water, get up and walk around the cabin as often as you can and wear compression socks or tights.
