Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Tang vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Opt for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
