No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Trans vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack in your passport, travel docs, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you plan to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you hop off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between air carriers, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes tools, metal cutlery, spray paint and fireworks. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could harm passengers, such as firearms and swords, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and opt for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lessen your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your lower limbs often.
