Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Val-Joli vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you take the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by donning layers, and opt for flat, easy-to-remove footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
