Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organized. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Yakeshi vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, official ID, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a laptop crammed with your favorite movies are some great options. If you hope to take a short snooze, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a few toiletry items so you'll hop off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like tools, metal cutlery, spray paint and flares. Sporting equipment like bows and arrows, and objects that could injure passengers, such as firearms and swords, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
