Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Yang Um escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a worry-free travel experience is to pack ahead. So, let's start with the basics: passport, boarding pass, credit cards and vital medications. Next, bring items that'll help pass the time, like your laptop or a magazine. You'll also want to pack your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs. And of course, don't forget to chuck in toiletry items like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a fresh set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers during long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your legs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
