During my stay, the shower flooded due to a clogged drain. When I checked the drain plug, it was filled with hair and a black mildew/slime buildup, which caused the water to back up. Because of this, I had to shower using very low water pressure so the water would slowly drain. Even the faucet water would begin to back up, which was extremely unpleasant. The room itself was also quite small, and overall it felt unclean. The television only provided local channels with no access to other viewing options. Additionally, there were only two electrical outlets in the entire room—one near the bed and one in the restroom—which was inconvenient. While the staff members were friendly and courteous, the overall condition of the room made for a very poor experience. Due to these issues, I had to cancel my planned week-long stay and reserve accommodations elsewhere.

The hotel is in a good location for everything we needed to do at the consulate. However, when we booked, no one informed us that the hotel was under construction. I think guests should be notified about that before booking. The hotel also does not have refrigerators in the rooms. I believe every hotel should at least provide a small fridge, especially for guests staying for longer periods. There is also no laundromat available, and only one elevator was working, which made it take forever to get to our room. My recommendation is to call ahead and confirm that the hotel has all the amenities you need. We ended up moving to another hotel nearby that offered these amenities. Most people staying in this area are there for at least two weeks, so at minimum the hotel should provide a small fridge and laundry facilities. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which was the best part of our stay. Unfortunately, the rooms were also very small.

I have never left a bad review before, but unfortunately this experience was disappointing. The front desk phone was not working, making it difficult to get assistance when needed. The bathroom was not clean, with hair throughout the shower. Guests should also be aware that hand towels and washcloths are not provided. My room did not have an iron or ironing board. When I needed an iron, I had to go to the front desk to request one, then return a second time because I was told I needed to leave an ID as collateral. This policy should have been explained at check-in. Later, when I returned the iron while rushing to an appointment, the receptionist responded with an attitude and said, “You’re welcome,” which came across as unprofessional. To add to the frustration, the complimentary Wi-Fi was not working during my stay. The property is currently under construction, which may explain some of the issues, and I hope management addresses them soon. Overall, I was dissatisfied with my stay and am glad I did not book an additional night. I understand that not every stay will be perfect, but basic cleanliness, working amenities, and professional customer service should be expected.
