Room smelled like smoke even though it was nonsmoking. They said I could swap rooms with my sister who had not arrived yet. They put a machine in the room which would “make it smell better”. I had to go back to the room to change clothes and get some belongings. The machine was in the room and was operational. I then went to the lobby and was told - for the first time - not to go into the room because it wasn’t healthy to breathe the air when the machine was running. When I said my uncle and I were in that room for about 30 minutes since no one said to stay out, the response was “don’t go back in there”. I explained that my belongings were in the room and again was asked if I wanted to swap rooms with my sister. I told them I didn’t want to put my sister in that room, either, so I needed to know when I should go back in the room. At least a couple of hours, she told me. Went out for dinner and, when I returned, the machine was off but the room still smelled like old smoke. The desk clerk then said she couldn’t smell smoke but also said she was a smoker so she probably wouldn’t smell it. The stale smoky smell remained throughout my stay. There was a large water stain on the ceiling and the tv did not work properly. I went down to the lobby to watch the Masters since I could not get it in my room. Breakfast was horrible. I’m not sure what was in the gravy. The second morning I skipped their breakfast and went out instead. Never received an apology or was offered a discount, etc
