I stayed at the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Columbus/Near Fort Moore for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was not great.
When I arrived, the room had several maintenance issues. There was no shower curtain, and I had to go to the front desk to report it. The same front desk employee had to come up and install it. The bathroom door had visible water damage at the bottom, and parts of the ceiling had peeling or missing paint. The room also had a noticeable musty smell. In addition, the TV had exposed cables, which made the room feel poorly maintained.
The shampoo dispenser in the shower was not working, which I also had to report. The towels were clean but mismatched and looked worn out, as if they were from different sets and had been used for a long time.
Breakfast was very basic. There were boiled eggs, but they were cold, and there were no hot protein options like sausage or bacon. They do have an automatic pancake machine, which is nice, but overall the selection is limited. The breakfast area is also quite small.
The hotel is currently under construction or renovation, but this was not communicated in advance. When you arrive, you are met with plastic barriers and restricted areas, which impacts the overall experience.
On a positive note, the staff was friendly and helpful.
Overall, the hotel feels outdated and in need of a major upgrade. With improvements, it could be a better stay, but in its current condition, I would not recommend it.
