a fun place to stay. if you are not familiar with port a, you might want to stay at a chain. the place was PERFECT for this old school hippie.

Nice property. Close and convenient location close to everything. Only downside was our AC in The room was not working. Other than that Was a nice time in Port A.

my room was dirty there was dirt on the sink and trsh under the sink cabenit and we couldnt even get wifi service we stuck in the room due to bad weather made the best of it

I am so sorry that you had issues with your room, we have not heard of any issues for this weekend. If you had come up, I would have moved you immediately. We strive for clean, comfortable rooms at great rates. Our Wifi is provided through Gtek and was working from what I saw, however sometimes devices have a hard time connecting. The wifi card I gave you at check in had a phone number on it to call if you needed help, were they able to help you? I unfortunately have no control over the weather, but hopefully we are pretty well over the cold fronts.

Despite the cold weather, this beach trip was excellent because the Shark Reef gave me hot drinks and a heater in my room!

It was my daughters 10th Birthday thos past weekend. Sharkreef Resort was Great! We got to the see the fireworks with out leaving. The kids had a blast running around the playground. The staff was soo friendly! We will definitely be returning!

Fresh towels and clean room everyday. Super friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed hot tub and pool everyday. We even grilled out on their grills available. Will definitely stay here again when we come back.

It was a good motel but #1 if you ever try to call the front desk, don't expect them to answer even when they are literally beside the phone. I tested that. #2 They act like they just really don't want your business. On the good side, the hot water was really hot so taking a shower was terrific. The bed was comfortable. The room was very clean. And it may have been the most quiet motel I've been in for the last several years. I spend an average of 250 days a year in hotels so those details are incredibly important to me.

We never want our guests to feel like we don't want them to come back. During slow season (December/January) occasionally we will lock the front office, however we place a sign on the door or we are always in our house. There is a doorbell on the front door that rings right to us, 24/7. During your stay, we did have phone issues; centurylink has been replacing all the lines to the island, as well as EQUIX redoing the gas lines. While you stayed, our phones had been going in and out because fiber lines had been cut. We hope to see you again!

I always stay here & love it. My last time though, the bed was so tall that I had to get the chair to get on it, no blow dryer in the room & had to go buy on & none of the USB charger ports worked. There were no plug ins on one side of the bed so I had to go buy extension cords. The bed was rather hard too. I will try it again as we always have good experience there.

$39 a night this was an incredible bargain. Best deal of the year! The room looked very nice having been remodeled in 2022.They also rent little homes/cabins. Nov/Dec is a good time to visit due to bird migration. Saw many at the nearby Nature Preserve. About 55 min drive to Corpus Christi. I was enjoying the trip so much I stayed another night.

We’ve stayed here a few times now for a couples weekend getaway. Always a great staff to encounter. Always see random little improvements being made around the hotel. Small things make a huge difference. We will continue to choose Shark Reef for our Port A trips!

The hotel is very dated. Air conditioning did not work properly and neither do remote for tv. They brought us a fan. The dead bolt would not latch and when we asked about it we were to it was the weekend so nothing would be done. Never had room service and we were there a week. Grass needed mowed so the mosquitos were awful. Sprinklers are on watering grass making it worse. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Horrible experiences
The first room had an odor of gas. The beds were rises and with my disability very difficult to jump on. The hotel moved us with no help from staff. The second that roaches and the toilet flooded. Overall not happy at all.

There was no gas odor, we had a plumber come check your room. We did not know that you had a disability and moved you to the closest room available. We were not asked to help you move your belongings, if we had been I would have sent maintenance to help you. We do not have roaches, I would be more than happy to send you our monthly pest control report showing that we do not have roach issues. I don't have any notes about a toilet flooding during your stay, there was a small clog but we took care of that. We hope you find enjoy the next hotel you choose in Port Aransas.

It is just an older property but it is clean. Shower is low - small bathroom sink. If you are just wanting affordable and clean this is the place for you.

We enjoyed our stay even though it was very noisy late into the night. The property doesn’t enforce “quiet time” at all. There was no blow dryer offered in the room which is unusual these days.
