“Wow. Amazing to find a Hotel like that in the middle of nowhere. While the decor is dated, the staff and food were great. We didn’t see any squirrels- which was a bit disappointing. Great walks around the area.”

“Fantastic stopover on trip down south . Recently refurbished with great food and exceptional staff. Room was a tad small however this was balanced with cleanliness and really nice toiletries. The food was freshly cooked quickly served and a great range of options. Breakfast - amazing and included in price -”

The staff are the best, the rooms are clean and welcoming, the breakfasts are superb, the bar has a nice cosy and relaxed vibe and it's a good location if you're planning to hike around the Lakes. I've stayed here 7 times in the last 12 months and i keep going back. I never want to go anywhere else.”

“Our room was upgraded on arrival, and the room was perfect, floor to ceiling windows with a perfect view of the lake. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice. The spa was lovely, The only downside was the building work going on outside but they seemed to keep disruption to a minimum”

“From the outside the Lakeland doesn’t look very inviting, net curtains looking drab and the white building aging. The staff were lovely and very helpful, got into the room and every step I took, there was some almighty creaking from the floor boards. Had a decent night sleep though! Breakfast was a little disappointing l, there was mouldy bread left out. I ordered a fry up which looked amazing when it came out, the only issue was the size, it would’ve been perfect for a child not for a 6 foot...

“Breakfast was nice but choice a bit limited as was the main menu. Otherwise no complaints and the food was well presented and tasty. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped. ”

“Lovely hotel, quaint & quirky, with low ceilings in places but not an issue. Pets were welcome. We had breakfast included and it was delicious, everything you needed. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom looked to be newly renovated.”
