“Overall the hotel was nice with a comfortable room and’s beds and great shower! We could have used a mini fridge but there were none. The lack of AC was a challenge as we stated in July and the temp was quite hotel at night, even with the windows open. No fans available either. The staff was very nice and kindly let is check out later which was really helpful.”

“The Barnsdale hotel is in a lovely and convenient setting with ample parking. The Sydnet spa is great and the pool was wonderful for an afternoon cool down. Plus super cute Highland cows! Breakfast and dinner is wonderful in the beautiful courtyard. The Barnsdale is an old building which means the lack of air conditioning was a challenge during the heatwave. The power shower remains a mystery why anyone thought this was a good choice to install!”

“Lovely spacious room with milk in a fridge and real coffee bags. Comfy bed and super shower. Breakfast was a help yourself to croissant and butter. Would've been good to have had a more healthy option. Such as fruit and/or yogurt in the fridge. Only issue really was the wifi. Couldn't get the TV to work in the morning, and in th3 evening it dropped out a lot. Other than that it was a very comfortable stay. Thank you.”

“The rooms are very well maintained and clean, the food was outstanding as are the staff.”

“Room 23 Noisy extractor fan. Should use spoons for tea instead of wood sticks. Should fix wallpaper falling down in room. But very clean and comfortable. Very helpful staff opening the bar for some drinks. Also upgraded me to a better room which was very generous.”

“Overall, we had a great stay. The hotel and its location were excellent, and the grounds were beautifully maintained and kept to a very high standard. The only disappointing aspect was the hotel restaurant. The food was average and didn't quite meet our expectations. If we were to return, we would probably choose to dine at restaurants nearby instead.”

“Stayed here many times but disappointed the room (carpet) didn't look clean, bathroom, this is only room with a bath and this will be the third time I've had this room and the bath taps don't work you can only use the shower. Previously I've had water in the room but not this time. Didn't look like the tea, coffee, etc. had been topped up”

“We booked about a year in advance as we wanted to be in the area for our son’s wedding the next day. We paid top price but didn’t get a top hotel! Our bath panel had been severely damaged by water and whilst the aircon cooling worked well it was like having a tractor in the room! Service in the restaurant was good however our main courses were really poor. We had a tough as old boots sirloin steak and I had the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had in a restaurant. “Friendly welcoming staff at reception, helpful staff throughout the restaurant and spa, lovely rooms - would absolutely stay again.”

“Worst hotel I have ever stayed! Reception closes at 10pm, so you have to call to get access. Room stinks to cigarette, flies inside the room, bathroom door was not closing and it smells pretty bad to humidity. Beds not comfortable. Don’t make the same mistake!!! Look somewhere else.”
