Dear Joann, Thanks for taking the time to write a review. As advertised, we are on a 200-acre working horse farm on top of a mountain. It is a 30 minute drive to town, as advertised, which is why I provide list of things to do here (gem & arrowhead hunting in the valley, over 70 species of birds, flowering plants & herbs, 6-7 miles of hiking trails on site, lake swimming, majestic 30 mile views, etc) on the farm - but you do have to be interested in nature, next only a mile away and then, in ever-widening circles. We are outdoor adventure oriented rather than city activity oriented. But that only makes sense given our location. Folks please, if you need to be in town to enjoy your vacation, you shouldn't choose a location in the country. As well as folks who stay in town shouldn't complain about traffic, noises, sirens, etc. It all goes with the territory you choose to stay in. We want our guests to know and understand but most importantly Enjoy where they are coming to. God outdid Himself in these mountains! They are truly majestic. But they are Not in the middle of a bustling city. And there's no way to get to the top of a mountain without a twisty road. It's not 4 laned, not even in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park with its millions of visitors every year. Just hoping future guests have a clearer picture of the country environment. It really is a charming contrast when you open yourselves up to it. Many Blessings to you,

We are so grateful you enjoyed your stay. The mountains are truly a majestic gift from God.

You're right, we are at the top, 4200 feet elevation! In the winter, it may snow at this elevation when it rains in the valley. But the snow is beautiful... our young grandson says "poor valley people". He obviously loves the snow.

Dear Billy, We regret you didn't enjoy your stay. I don't know why Hotels.com didn't show the taxes on your invoice but they are now. I'm sorry about that. The pictures of the cabin and kitchen accurately reflect it's size and layout. The cause of the odor has been fixed. The cabin is advertised as being built in 1960 so you're correct, it is older. We are a simple facility on a 200 acre working horse farm on top of a mountain. It is out in the country. Your comments are appreciated and helpful. Thank you.
