Staff were friendly & helpful. Food at the hotel and on site pub was excellent. The hotel location is good with the town centre around 30 minutes walk. The pool area was uninspiring and access was limited. There was no availability for spa treatments during our stay. The room wasn’t cleaned properly. The lack of decent toiletries was disappointing and not what we expected in a 4 star hotel.

Lovely location and good quality hotel with very friendly staff. Would revisit this hotel if we return to Kendal. A very minor negative was the tiny bottle of shower gel supplied for two guests. We ended up buying some elsewhere. But that really was the only negative in a five day stay.

Beautiful hotel and fantastic staff, unfortunately the Pub and Restaurant Annabelle on the hotel grounds ( not the main hotel) is very expensive and the food is way below standard and I was gobsmacked with the packaged onions £4-50 and pepper sauce

It was a lovely stay, the only thing I can bring up is it was like being at a night club being directly above the gym with the loud music.

Great hotel and wonderfully friendly, accommodating staff. Delicious food, great bar and restaurant and pub next door. Convenient free parking right outside the door. Beautiful grounds. Beautiful large room with nice view. Would recommend this hotel highly.

Hotel is ok, not the most modern in decor of overall hotel or rooms or even swimming facilities. Breakfast was a bit poor, not enough crossaint or fresh fruit etc each day, once they run out that’s it. Our room wasn’t very clean, dirty bathroom vent we had to show them & therefore didn’t work. Was fixed quickly. Spoons in room looked like they’d been wiped clean & not new clean ones. Staff generally fine. Prob not somewhere to stay again. Area itself is nice & pretty.

Excellent hotel, spa and food.
The hotel was beautiful and I especially noticed how warm and friendly the staff were. We made use of the Green Room spa, and would highly recommend it. The Greenhouse restaurant was a wonderful experience, the food was a very high standard and delicious.

The hotel itself is beautiful my room was lovely staff were great especially the receptionist. However the hotel is not particularly friendly if you have health mobility issues. I got there after 8 so was in the overflow carpark which meant having to walk up a steep bank and then two flightsof stairs to get to the reception area dragging a case and lap top bag which was far from ideal and painful. Once in the hotel i was advised i was on second floor and there was no lift for my part at which point i could genuinely have cried at the thought of carrying my heavy case and lap top bag up another 2 flights of stairs. But the lovely receptionist could see i was struggling and she helped me carry my bags up and i was extremely grateful to her. So hotel is fab if your fit can get parked at the top outside reception and get a ground floor room if not its not so good.

El preu no correspon a les habitacions
La relació qualitat preu no es correspon a un hotel de 4 estrelles. L’habitació era petita i les finestres donaven a les instal·lacions tècniques de l’hotel, en canvi el preu corresponia a una suite. Necessites un vehicle per arribar a l’hotel. Els serveis de personal i especialment la cuina son excelents.

Good stay
Great stay, we had a lovely room, quite a lot of space, very clean and comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the meals, which were very expensive with small portions but there are a few lovely pubs nearby.

Everything was fine except for the meal we had on the first evening at the newly refurbished Alexanders pub restaurant which is part of the hotel. The artisan bread (£5.95) was stale which we sent back only to wait 10 minutes for it to be replaced (chef being clever?). This time of the 6 small pieces, only 4 were stale. However, before we had time to eat the replacement bread along came the main course (Seabass, tagliatelle and veg - £22.95). The Seabass was cooked well though very small. The tagliatelle was dry and lukewarm. The green veg (which weirdly was placed under the fish), was well cooked but totally without any seasoning. The young waiter was apologetic but clearly the place lacked professional supervision. We complained to reception who said they would inform management but heard nothing back.

Great hotel
We stayed for 1 night while visiting Windermere. The hotel was great the only downside I can think of is the restaurant/bar was expensive and the menu “posh” for us. The staff are very helpful and the views are nice.
