"This is a traditional inexpensive Tico hotel. It has fans instead of AC, no pool, thinner walls than US folk are used to, no elevator front and center. But it is clean, safe, and costs half or less the rate of a US-style hotel. There is a mall, banks and restaurants within a half kilometer. It's good at being what it's supposed to be."

"It is a charming hotel with very friendly service. I love the decor and many kinds of flowers. Located so close to the University - 5 minutes and you are on campus. Hotel will arrange tourist trips. Took one last time which was great (coffee plantation, volcanos etc). Would gladly stay there again."

"WiFi didn't work in room. Staff allowed smoking. The place smelled strongly of smoke. Staff watched TV in the reception area - this was too loud in the room. Room was not clean. There was still half a bottle of water from a previous guest in the room. This could be a nice place to stay, but there is little attention to details: Bathroom door scrapes across the floor and is difficult to open. No ventilation in the room. Not even a fan! The safe was broken and you had to go to the front desk to get a hair dryer. And there was a gap under the door which allowed all the hallway noise to come in. "The hotel is great. Big, surrounded by nature, trees, a river, 2 excellent swimming pools and the staff is very friendly. Our room was simply perfect. The restaurant is a joke, a bad joke. They got almost nothing to serve. They dont even show you the menu because 70% of the menu is out. So you will eat what they got, not what you want. Quality of the food not good and terribly expensive."
