“The rural sheep farm offered quiet, a modern cabin, excellent food dinner, a wonderful farm tour that included wallabies, echidnas, a sheepdog herding demonstration, and an up-close sheep shearing demonstration. The owner is gracious and informative in several languages. We spent 2 nights enjoying comfortable beds and the calls of many interesting birds and animals. Nearby we can also recommend the gin distillery tasting and hiking the 3 waterfalls at Mt. Field national park. ”

“When we arrived at Blue Lake Lodge no one was there and the place was all locked up. Tried to phone the lodge but rang out to a full answering machine. So clearly something wrong with their booking system. ”

“Beautifully converted shearer’s quarters with so many lovely touches. The communal kitchen provided a breakfast and all cooking options to be able to self cater with a roaring fire for heating. Very pleasant stay.”

“We were in Room 7 which has a connecting door with Room 8. Some serious work is required to sound proof the connecting door. you can actually see from one room to the other, the gap around the door is so large.”

“Chalets are great, fire was going when we got there. Louise the manager could brush up on her customer skills. Derwent Bridge Hotel 700mt away has great meals. ”

“Lovely cosy room was all we needed. Great to stay in an old ex convict place. Check in was via a code to my phone text which worked fine. Had a good look around Oatlands, enjoying all the history of the place. ”

“The food in restaurant was alittle pricey but I thought worth it. The veggies were crisp and not being a big bread eater, the entree bread was crisp and light, as was the toast in the morning. All food is organic and it absolutely made a taste difference for me. ”
