It was our first time at an onsen (we are Canadian) and it was a great introduction as there was both private and public onsens. The view was incredible, of the mountains and valley and we got to sit in a private outdoors onsen while watching a lighting storm. Truely magical. The staff was amazing and very accomodating. "We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Monterey Sendai. It has an old world charm, and the spa on the top floor is delightful. It is very close to the central train station and in a fantastic part of the city. Highly recommend the hotel- we would definitely stay there again. "
