We did have a problem with our air conditioner, causing us to move to another room the next day, which was a bit inconvenient, but overall, a good experience. “The room was beautiful and clean. The view of the ocean was stunning. We did not partake in breakfast so I cannot comment. The staff was pleasant but not prominent. We felt like it was more of an air bnb as opposed to a hotel. Very quiet after nightfall. Had good sleeps. Walk into town was about 7 minutes along the ocean walkway. Beautiful. Our main complaint was no labels on the wonderful lighting switches. You have spent a lot of money on beautiful lighting, it would be nice...

“Everything was immaculate. Welcoming hosts. Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. Whale watching from room was amazing and good sightings along the bay too. Room was beautiful and well equipped with thoughtful touches. Would highly recommend as a better alternative to staying in Hermanus. ”

“Window near bathroom had a light shining in all night. Adding a curtain would help. One switch that turns on the bathroom light and vent at the same time was annoying. You could be in the bathroom without hearing the annoying fan running. Seafood restaurant outside of our room stank so fish all day and night so we couldn’t enjoy the balcony or leave the windows open. Bed was soft though.”

“Carin and her husband and the rest of the staff at Oude schuur guesthouse were amazingly friendly and accommodating. They helped with getting us a car rental and made some excellent suggestions for dinner in the area. The breakfasts were delicious and fresh, the room was spotless with daily housekeeping. We would recommend this place to anyone wishing to visit the Hermanus area. The mountain views from our terrace were spectacular as well. Be sure to book several nights, because you won’t want...

“Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und groß. Das Badezimmer großzügig gestaltet. Es gab eine Klimaanlage und, wenn man Wert darauf legt, Netflix. Der Ortskern ist 5 Geh-Minuten entfernt. Dort findet man viele Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Der Grotto-Beach ist 5 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt und definitiv zu empfehlen.”
