“First stay and had a twin room. £44. The building and interior is quaint and quirky. To some extent it reminded me of my great nans house, with the old black round light switches and 'old' smell. Suits of armour, croquette set, tapestry rocker chair. The rooms had the heating on so lovely and warm on a chilly evening. Boiling hot water for a bath with complementary gel. Bed and pillows super comfortable. Fair size room. Asked for more tea as only 2 bags in the room. Really welcoming...

“We stayed at the hotel for a night for a wedding, we received a very warm and friendly welcome the staff on reception was very helpful. The bar staff and the staff that served us during the wedding breakfast were very professional and polite and really accomadating. The room was really clean and tidy and we had a very pleasant stay we would definitely recommend the hotel and we would love to stay again in the future.”

“Right in the heart of town with free parking behind the hotel. The gentleman who booked us in was extremely helpful.”

“Well maintained facilities. Pub next door was great for dinner. Check in was a bit long winded, was asked for a “check in” number that started with a “2”, showed by Expedia app and booking details but was asked to get ID to release the key.”

“The perfect mini break. Absolutely beautiful venue, amazing quality food, comfortable bed and cosy room. Nicely decorated, helpful staff- perfect! ”

“Comfy and clean room. Great shower! Breakfast was ok, but the bacon was quite hard, sausages were tasteless and no scrambled egg. The breakfast staff were very busy and friendly but could have had 1 or 2 more staff assisting. Nevertheless, it was a nice stay! ”

“The room itself was clean and everything covered. The entrance hall and stairs are tired and requie a spruce up. The security deposit and photo ID before check in seems over the top as I only had a one night stay. It was great value for money and excellent location. Would I use again? Perhaps, but the ID and security bond puts me off.”
