Lovely place to stay, veey welcoming and cozy.. breakfast was excellent and would come again and definitely recommend to anyone
Clean and comfy. We stayed in a family room. Some discrepancies between what we booked on Expedia and what was sent through to the hotel, but was sorted by email and phone call in advance. Warm welcome and THE most amazing dairy free, gluten free complimentary brownies I've ever tasted. The room was lovely and just what we needed for a one night stop to break up a longer journey. Only slight issue was the noise from something the other side of the bedroom wall (some sort of low level generator/machine) but ear plugs helped at night. Possibly only an issue for light sleepers guests who are noise sensitive. Staff were very dog friendly but there is nowhere to walk the dog off-road and no poop bag bins.
We didn't eat at the hotel but if the brownies are anything to go by I imagine it is lovely. Nice place to stay.
A wonderful place to stay. Large room, exceptional staff, wonderful hospitality. Just a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The icing on the cake is the food. Absolutely divine. An unforgettable experience.
It was completely amazing, everything was well arranged in an amazing place, immersed in nature.
Also breakfast was amazimg, fully natural, delicious. This was really 10/10
Mine was a solo stay for one Saturday night. It’s a lovely clean and comfortable room in a family run country hotel with friendly and generous hosts. I hadn’t booked a table in the restaurant and it was full to capacity but the chef made a delicious light meal for me which I ate in the lounge. Everything about my stay was exceptional.
The staff here care about you and treat you like family (I got a flat tire in their parking lot at night and they helped me call my rental car agency and helped me through the process all the way). The building and rooms are lovely and comfortable with many little touches that make it feel like home.
Last minute booking for a race that I had planned. Arrived just before 10pm and left around 7am the next morning. The room was well presented and had everything you needed, good quality coffee, comfy pillows and some lovely welcome brownies. Would certainly go back when I visit Dorset again.
My wife and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Yalbury Cottage. Our only disappointment was that their restaurant was closed on Tuesday night but the Wise Man Inn in the next village proved an able substitute. The cottage is really in the heart of Dorset countryside and it was a real surprise to look out of our bedroom window and see Llamas grazing in the field.
We did have dinner on Wednesday night and it did not disappoint starting with gorgeous canapés through to a fantastic dessert. Ten out of ten all round!
A beautiful peaceful place with the most superb food imaginable courtesty of chef Jamie. Arianne is the perfect hostess. Have returned time and time again, year after year. Never disappoints. The perfect place in so may ways in delightful Hardy Country.
