When you book a room with 2 guests and show up with 4 guests, there are going to be extra person charges. Not only is it stated in our listing, but standard in the lodging industry. Apologies if that offended you. We allowed you early check-in and only charged you for one additional guest waiving the charge for the 4th guest and did not charge you for the second night cancellation because you were upset about the extra person charges. I guess we felt we tried to accommodate you but you did not.

Unfortunately, by your own admission to our staff in follow-up phone calls, you mistaking booked a non-refundable reservation for the day of arrival through Expedia taking the room out of our available inventory. You stated to staff that you actually wanted to book the same date not for June but July--a month later. We did cancel you out of Expedia without any consequence so we were a little dismayed you chose to review us with a 2 after all we did to minimize your situation with no financial repercussion.

When you arrive after 5 pm and we have not heard from you, we do reach out to make sure all is well with your travels, apologies if that was odd for you. As I was in the garden watering when you arrived, I did meet you at your car for check-in and to orient you with the area. Since you didn't have to leave your car, I would think that would have been a convenience. We do not advertise breakfast during the week, only continental on the weekends. A simple call to the front desk could have assisted with your TV. Finally, I am not sure how to even respond to "Covid is out of date" and how that statement applies to your stay? We do appreciate you staying with us for the one evening and wish you the best for the rest of your summer.

I was never rude to you. I did not make you wait outside, I greeted you in the parking lot with visitor's guides and the room key while you were sitting in your car as you parked several rooms down from the office. When presented the folio to sign, you announced you were travelling with a pet. I explained that due to insurance, we cannot accept pets. It is also posted on our Expedia posting. You booked our last room as a non-refundable Expedia reservation agreeing to their terms and our policies. You stated you had purchased insurance through Expedia and you would take it up with them. That was also restated during our phone call. I was waiting to hear back from you once you had contacted the insurance carrier about options.

Thanks for the feedback. Our posted rate on our site booked direct was $199 for that evening. However, you booked through Hotels which does have commissions added to our base rate paid to Hotels. We start the season with all new linens and towels so perhaps they are still too "new"? Any odor might have been from the new carpeting installed two weeks back, glad the windows and ceiling fan worked for you. Have a great summer!

Guests are sent an email explaining that we are not providing daily housekeeping as we are severely short staffed--an issue everywhere unfortunately. This is also explained at check-in. However, we do provide fresh towels daily if you just touch base with staff. Coffee is served from 9-11 am. This is also in the email and conveyed at check-in. Regarding the rate, had you booked direct with us, your rate would have been lower. Booking through Expedia does come with additional charges and commissions charged by Expedia. I appreciate that you liked the property and your room. Hopefully we will see you again and best wishes for the rest of your summer!
